“San Romolo” introduces you to a new way of appreciating food. We only use fresh local products, herbs and spices in our cooking. Special attention is paid to the harmony of the colours, aromas and tastes of the Chianti wine-growing area.

We work for you to make your dinner a journey through time, to discover the ancient traditions of Tuscany.

You can choose one of our menus or we can help you create your own menu. Each menu includes five bottles of wine, water, coffee and Vin Santo (dry dessert wine). “San Romolo” organizes dinners where you can taste a selection of prosciutto, salami, cheeses and enjoy various types of wine. We can  also prepare home-made pizza cooked in a wood-burning oven.

Minimum 4 adults per menu. Please book 2 days in advance.

BASIL MENU

  • Liver Paté on bread
  • Chopped tomatoes, basil and garlic on toasted bread drizzled with local olive oil.
  • Bresaola and ricotta rolls
  • Panzanella (typical paesant dish)
  • Pasta all’Amatriciana (with bacon, tomato and onions)
  • Roasted pork
  • White beans
  • Mixed salad
  • Chocolate cake

THYME MENU

  • Pecorino cheese flan
  • Wild-greens omelette
  • Mushrooms on toasted bread
  • Trofie Pasta with pecorino cheese, walnuts, tomatoes and thyme
  • Orzotto Estivo (Summer barley salad)
  • “Medici” Guinea fowl
  • Sweet and sour baby onions
  • Spinach and silverbeet with oil and garlic
  • Warm Apple cake
  • Panna cotta (cooked cream with caramel sauce)

ROSEMARY MENU

  • Liver paté on bread

  • Herring paté
  • Finocchiona salami and soft cheese mousse on toasted bread
  • Farro al pestaccio (spelt wheat salad with basil and pine nuts)
  • Fusilli pasta with smoked prosciutto, courgettes and pecorino cheese

 GINGER MENU (vegetarian)

  • Selection of creamly cheeses
  • Stracchino & rucola on tosted bread

  • Trenette dressed by cuorgette pesto

CANNELLA MENU (tasty menu)

  • Home made Pizza bread with aromatic herbs
  • Mix of Tuscan cheeses (pecorino, ricotta, raveggiuolo ecc), salami, prosciutto, sausages (all from little producer of Chianti zone)
  • Mixed chicories dressed with balsamic vinegar.
